Switches and Wireless Networks There’s a common misconception that if a company is going to implement wireless networking, then switches are not necessary. The reality is that switches still play a vital part of a high-speed wireless network. Servers should ALWAYS be connected to a high-speed switch to avoid potential network bottlenecks. Wireless access points must still interface with the local network through a switch. So in reality, wireless networks are not wireless, they’re actually both wired and wireless. |
