Progressive Scan DVD

Progressive scanning is a method for representing moving images on a display screen, where every pixel is represented in each frame. This is in contrast to interlacing used in traditional television systems.

By capturing the entire field in one scan, the progressive image does not have the tearing on moving objects that plague images from interlaced video.
