Wired: What Does My Computer Need?

After you have gotten your broadband modem and your router, you will need to make sure your computer is equipped to communicate with these devices. Before you can connect your computer to the router, you will need a Network Adapter. Most computers today are sold with network adapters already built in.

If your computer does NOT have a network adapter, you can choose from the following that best suits your computer

• PCI – for desktops
• Cardbus – for notebooks
• USB – for desktops or notebooks
