What DNS Does

Let’s say you type www.dlink.com in your Web browser. A DNS Server translates www.dlink.com to its respective IP Address on the Internet.

DNS makes browsing the Internet a lot easier on web surfers since the IP address doesn’t need to typed in every single time.

Plus, domain names are much easier to remember rather than a string of numbers. For example, trying to remember www.google.com vs. 66.102.7.147.
